    Our Approach to Volvo Customers

    Our approach is individualised to suit our Volvo customer. We will consult with you about repairs that need doing, your budget and your timing. Often, we will be able to recommend a multi-staged approach; i.e. attend to the most urgent and immediately repairs and schedule other repairs at a later time. That way, you can maintain your prestige vehicle at its optimum performance while spreading your costs over time.

    Servicing your new Volvo at Autohaus Northshore will not void or affect your warranty, as we follow the manufacturer’s recommended servicing schedule. All servicing is carried out to the highest standard and fully documented. Service documents and records are kept for each car on our database.

    In addition, we will aim to repair components rather than opt for the “replacement mentality” of dealers. Our number one priority is to benefit our Volvo customers so that they return and refer their friends.

    • As a Volvo service customer, you are entitled to a risk-free 12 month guarantee on all replacement parts.
    • Our aim is to build long-term relationships with our Volvo customers, so we aim to please.
    • We listen and advise you on options you can take to repair and service your Volvo, when it suits you.
    • We do not proceed with any work without receiving your authorisation and we provide you with progress reports along the way to avoid any nasty surprises.
    • Your invoice will reflect your quote fairly.

    Volvo Service Schedule

    Volvo use a service indicator on their instrument cluster to inform the driver of when a service is due. It works on mileage and time with set criteria; below is a snapshot of the manufacturer’s approach.

    The service schedule depends on the model and year of the vehicle; the following is an indicator.

    Time & Mileage Schedule

    • 15,000 km or 12 months: Basic service
    • 30,000 km or 24 months: Intermediate service
    • 60,000 km or 4 year: Major service
    • Basic service includes oil and filter replacement. Full vehicle inspection and report
    • Major service: air, pollen and fuel filters to be replaced and the change of transmission oil. At this time, spark plugs are to be replaced for petrol engines only.
    • Timing belt replacement, which includes replacement of the timing belt, all pulleys and water pump is due at 120,000 km for petrol engines and 180,000 km for diesel engines.
    • We can provide you with genuine Volvo parts or offer OEM parts (Original Manufacturers Equipment) under warranty, at competitive prices. Unlike dealers, we are not restricted to one supplier, which provides you with flexibility, choice and value for money. All new parts replaced carry a twelve-months/20,000km warranty.
    • At Autohaus Northshore, we use FUCHS lubricants which comply with the manufacturer’s recommendations. Due to the high quality of the FUCHs products, they are often used by leading manufacturers.
    • As part of our Volvo servicing criteria, we use specific diagnostic equipment to reset your service reminder and your vehicle computers. We also check for any electronic faults logged in the computers of your vehicle, evaluate them and report them to you.
    • By having your car serviced at Autohaus Northshore, you will NOT void your Volvo Statutory Warranty. We can service your car from the first service or any subsequent service, without jeopardising your Manufacturer’s Warranty. We will make sure that any problem with your car that could potentially be covered by warranty, is brought to your attention and advise you on the best strategy to have it repaired under warranty through the Volvo dealerships. We offer an End of Warranty inspection for our customers so they may take advantage of any work that could be carried out within the warranty period.
